221 drug arrests at Stereosonic Music Festival at Sydney Olympic Park

221 Arrested and charged with drug offences

With all the recent media about the high Police presence at music festivals, and the recent tragic death of a young lady from ecstacy consumption, it is surprising that such a large number of people were charged with drug related offences this year.

More than 80,000 attended the festival this year, over the two days.

169 people were charged for being in possession of a prohibited drug, and about 13 people charged with supplying a prohibited drug, including ecstacy, cocaine, GHB, cannabis and ketamine.

A further 38 people were charged with possession of drugs on public transport, travelling to and from the event.
